Rene Engel, Echezeaux Size:6x750ml A completely different aromatic profile(from the En Orveaux climat with vines planted in 1924 and 1979). This is a big step up in quality with very ripe, earthy and spicy black fruit aromas that are a clearly pinot but the vintage is also well in evidence. The forward and supple flavors offer good depth and plenty of character plus a finish that is serious yet delicious and quite long all wrapped in dusty tannins. (88 91) 2010+
